At Trail’s End, we take a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to summer camp, recognizing that every child is unique and that individual needs matter. We also understand that the dining room and the health center can be areas of concern for many campers — and for parents as well. That’s why we are intentional about creating environments in both that feel safe, supportive, and well cared for.
We recognize that being a leader in the camping industry means caring for the whole child — and that care extends thoughtfully into our dining room and our health center.
Dining at Trail’s End
Mealtimes at Trail’s End are about more than just food — they’re a time to connect and enjoy being together. Our beautifully air-conditioned dining room features round tables that create a warm, welcoming atmosphere filled with laughter, conversation, and shared moments.
Meals are served family-style at each table, creating an inclusive and communal dining experience. We also offer substitute bars at every meal, providing plenty of options for even the pickiest eaters.
Trail’s End is 100% nut-free, and we are highly experienced in accommodating food allergies and dietary needs, including dairy, egg, and gluten sensitivities. As the number of campers with allergies and special dietary requirements has grown, our food service program has grown right along with them.
Our dedicated food service team, led by Head Chef Santos Macias and Special Needs Coordinator Jill Relkin, takes great care to ensure every camper feels safe and confident at mealtime, with thoughtful options for food allergies, dietary needs, and even the pickiest of eaters.
Dining Room Dance Parties
Throughout the week, our dining room comes alive as our resident DJ turns breakfast or lunch into a high-energy camp dance party — filled with singing, dancing, and unforgettable camp moments.

Fresh fruit is available throughout the day, with fruit stands conveniently located around camp — including in the dining room and in each Head Counselor office — so campers can grab a healthy pick-me-up whenever they need one.
Every afternoon following Rest Hour, campers enjoy Moo Call, our daily snack break. Each evening, campers also receive a bedtime snack delivered directly to their bunk.
Health & Wellness
Just as we place great care and attention on our food service program, we place equal importance on providing exceptional medical care.
Under the leadership of our Health Center Administrator, Julia Galanti, our state-of-the-art, air-conditioned Health Center is thoughtfully designed to meet the growing needs of our campers while providing comfort, privacy, and peace of mind.
Our Health Center is supported by a dedicated team that includes Julia Galanti, two Assistant Administrators, seven nurses, and a physician onsite 24/7. Trail’s End is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Wayne Memorial Hospital, with access to trusted medical specialists when needed.
Peace of Mind for Families
Overall, we are deeply committed to caring for the health, safety, and overall well-being of our campers. We encourage families to share their child’s individual dietary and medical needs so we can support them in the best way possible.
