Starr & Stan Goldberg
Starr and Stan have called Trail’s End their summer home for over 50 years. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Starr and Stan were childhood sweethearts.
A physical education graduate of NYU, Stan started at Trail’s End in 1960 as a bunk counselor. After a brief time as Group Leader and Waterfront Director, Stan became the Boys’ Head Counselor in 1967 and served in this role for 20 years. He called this position his “dream job.” In 1986, Stan and Starr were fortunate enough to purchase Trail’s End from the Laub family.
Starr’s career at TEC started in 1964 as a counselor. She then worked as the office manager. Although Starr did not hold a formal position while she raised their two daughters, Rona and Rori, Trail’s End was always a part of her life while she supported Stan along the way. Today Starr plays an important role with the campers as the Grandma figure in their lives. Her loving nature and warm personality are felt throughout camp.
Starr and Stan’s impact on the lives of countless TEC campers and staff has been remarkable. In 2010, Stan received the American Camp Association’s Legends of Camping Award, which recognized his lifelong dedication to the world of camping. Rona & Marc Honigfeld
Rona is truly a TEC baby spending every summer at camp since she was 6 months old. She graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Child & Family Studies and studied Nutrition at C.W. Post. While Rona spends a large amount of her time working behind the scenes at TEC, her kindness, sincerity and compassion provide both campers and staff with the support they need to get the most out of their summer.
Marc was first introduced to the world of summer camp at age 15 when he attended Twin Hills. He went on to work as a counselor at Camp Roosevelt during his summer breaks while at George Washington University. Like many, Marc loved camp but believed his camp days were over when he graduated from college in 1988. After meeting Rona in 1989, they spent their summers at TEC while Marc was obtaining his Law Degree from Boston University. After a brief career in law, Marc began to work for Trail’s End full time in the summer of 1995.
Marc’s dedication to summer camp extends beyond the gates of Trail’s End. He has served on the Board of the New York Section of the American Camp Association, as Co-President of the Wayne County Camp Association and as President of Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education.
Marc and Rona live in New York with their two girls, Kylie and Mackenna.

Sara has been at Trail's End since 2008, starting as a basketball counselor while finishing up her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at Lyndon State College. Sara went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Community and Youth Development from Durham University in the United Kingdom. After graduating in 2013, she came to Trail's End Camp as a full time Assistant Director and then in 2024 she was promoted to Associate Director. During the off season she lives on Long Island.

Kylie Honigfeld
Assistant Director
Just like her mother, Kylie has been at camp since she was 6 months old. She graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Human Development and Family Science and a minor in Retail Management. Kylie spent her first 2 years after graduating working at Steve Madden on the Licensing team under the Betsey Johnson label.
Following into her family's footsteps, Kylie joined the Trail's End team during the summer of 2020 as tour director, and now is working full time focusing on parents, campers and camp program.
Growing up as a camper, living her counselor days, and eventually becoming a group leader, Kylie's knowledge, love and passion for camp is what brought her to where she is now. Camp is family to her, and she is excited to carry the Honigfeld/ Goldberg experience that Trail's End offers each and every person that walks through the gates.
Kylie currently lives in NYC with her new puppy, Benson, who is a Toy Poodle.

Foster Lattman
Assistant Director
Foster was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, where sports became more than a pastime; rather, they were a way of life! Baseball took center stage in his early years and led him around the country, playing in travel team and all-star tournaments against some of the best players in his class.
Foster continued his passion for sports, studying at the University of North Florida, earning his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Finance. Following his freshman year, he stumbled upon Trail's End Camp and found himself as a Pioneer Counselor in 2015. Here, he spent two summers working with the younger campers before starting his journey with the teenagers in Varsity, where he was a Counselor, Group Leader, and eventually assumed the role of Head Counselor, a position he currently holds.
In 2021, Foster moved to New York and joined the Trail's End Camp full-time team, focusing on staffing, trips, camp operations, and Varsity programming. Outside of camp, Foster loves to play golf, watch sports, and spend time with his friends, many of whom he has made through his years at TEC.
Foster currently resides in NYC, where he patiently waits for the warm summer days to come around and remind him of his younger days back in Florida.

Stephanie Fineman
Assistant Director of Girls
Steph made her way to Trail's End in the summer of 2010 with her two sons, Liam and Fletcher, in tow. That first summer she was the Fine Arts Specialist in our original Arts and Crafts program. She says watching her boys cry on the last day of TEC 2010 because they didn't want to leave showed her she made the right decision to join the Trail's End family, and she hasn't looked back since!
Since that first summer, Steph has worked as both the Assistant Director and Director of our original Arts and Crafts program and Girl's Head Counselor - first for Lower Girl's Campus, and then for both Lower and Upper Girl's Campuses. Nowadays, Steph is our Assistant Director of Girls, and you can find her all around camp with our girl campers and counselors, offering hugs to anyone who needs one, or greeting campers with an exuberant "good morning!" as they walk into the dining hall for breakfast.
Steph has a Masters Degree in Gerontology from the University of South Florida, and two undergraduate degrees from the University of Maryland in both Therapeutic Recreation and Hearing and Speech Sciences. During the winter months, Steph lives in Lake Worth, Florida, with her husband, Alan. After working as part of the medical faculty at the Florida Career College, Steph is now working towards an additional Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. When she's not studying, she enjoys spending her time playing cello, crocheting, and reading.

Zach Wahl-Alexander
Assistant Director of Boys
Zach Wahl-Alexander was born and raised in Bellmore, New York and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Physical and Health Education. After graduating from the University of Alabama with a Doctorate in Human Performance, Zach began working at Northern Illinois as a professor, where he now trains physical education teachers. He also created Project FLEX, a physical activity and life skills program in a maximum-security juvenile detention center outside Chicago. When he's not working, Zach enjoys being outside or at the beach, exercising, and watching Alabama football.
After looking for a unique summer work experience where he could be outside and work with kids, Zach came to Trail's End in 2011 as our Pioneer Group Leader. Although he initially planned on spending only one summer at camp, after falling in love with Trail's End and his now wife, Katie, Zach has been with us ever since! Zach has served as our Pioneer Group Leader and Boys Head Counselor before transitioning into our Assistant Director in charge of all male campers and staff.
Zach considers himself truly "Better For Having Been." Without Trail's End, he would not have met Katie! Zach says getting to announce in 2019 their pregnancy during Friday Night Services is one of his favorite camp memories. Their daughter, McKinley, was born on February 8, 2020.

Jim Ressler
Assistant Director – Head of Program Areas
Jim was brought to camp in 2017 by his colleague and our Assistant Director of Boys, Zach, to serve as our Athletic Director, and he didn't come alone! He brought along his wife, Mary-Beth, who serves as our Drama Director, and their three sons, Joseph, Matthew and Benjamin. They all quickly became an integral part of the Trail's End family. In 2018, Jim became our Head of Program Areas, and he now spends his summer leading, training and developing all of our Area Directors.
Jim earned his Bachelors in Physical Education from Baldwin-Wallace College, his Masters in Athletic Administration from Eastern Illinois University, and his Ph.D. in Physical Education Teacher Education from Ohio State University. During the winter, he works as a professor at Northern Illinois University, where he trains future physical education teachers.
When asked why he loves working at Trail's End, Jim says he loves the people and the unique, daily interactions with the campers and staff. Jim claims the best part of the job is helping new staff grow comfortable at Trail's End in their role and helping returning staff assume more leadership in their spaces and among their peers.

Shari Mullen
Program Director & Co-Head Counselor Boys
When sending her and her husband, Geoff's, oldest son, Harrison, to Trail's End in 2013, Shari had no idea she'd be joining the TEC family herself one year later! Yet in 2014, Shari started her Trail's End career as our Tennis Director. Since then, Shari has served in various roles at Trail's End Camp, including Director of Programming, Group Leader for Debs, Lower Rangers and Upper Rangers, and Florida Liaison. Shari now serves as our Head Counselor of Lower Boys Campus.

All three aspire to one day become a Trail's End counselor - they are truly a Trail's End family!
Shari loves spending her summers watching the campers and counselors play and have fun. She says her favorite part of the job is mastering the art of s'mores assembling - she has it down to a science! Outside of camp, Shari enjoys walking, cooking and spending time with her family.
